 Shauna advocates for understanding the root causes of gun violence beyond mental illness, emphasizing environmental factors and systemic issues, while protecting Second Amendment rights. 

Shauna is committed to sustainable local economies, advocating for products to be made and bought within the community. Her focus is on supporting small, Kentucky-based family-owned businesses and believes in the power of unions and labor protections to guard Kentuckians against corporate exploitation.

An exorbitant amount of American taxpayer dollars is being spent to fund military conflicts overseas. Shauna fights to protect our United States Armed Forces members and keep taxpayer dollars in America, helping our own schools, hospitals, and infrastructure system.  Shauna believes in the liberation of all oppressed people, including those in Palestine, Sudan, DRC, and others.

 Shauna champions healthcare as a fundamental right, highlighting the current system's failings with examples like the cost disparities of Epi-pens in America versus Europe. She supports a Universal Healthcare model for its potential to provide access for all and significant cost savings. Shauna also is a strong advocate for the rights of womens' rights to autonomy over their own bodies and medical choices. 

 Investment in education, from early childhood to higher education, is crucial for Shauna. She emphasizes the need for accessible technical and vocational programs and affordable childcare to support working families 

 Recognizing Kentucky's agricultural significance, Shauna advocates for policies supporting farmers and sustainable practices while protecting farm-workers' rights. 

 Shauna's vision includes investing in infrastructure, enhancing public utilities, and advocating for more bike-able and pedestrian-friendly roads throughout Kentucky. 

 With personal ties to Eastern Kentucky, Shauna understands the lasting impact of coal mining and is committed to protecting natural resources and developing responsible energy policies. 

 Shauna believes in equality for all, addressing racial inequality and systemic racism, and upholding constitutional rights including free speech, peaceful assembly, and gun rights. 

 Drawing from her clinical social work experience, Shauna supports comprehensive strategies to address the opioid crisis, focusing on prevention, treatment, and family support.

A dedicated accomplice to the LGBTQ+ community, both personally and professionally, Shauna is committed to policies and legislation that ensure equality, safety, and respect for LGBTQ+ individuals in Kentucky. Shauna plans to focus on comprehensive anti-discrimination laws, support for LGBTQ+ youth in schools, and enhanced access to healthcare and mental health services. 

 As an advocate and activist, Shauna is deeply committed to supporting veterans, drawing on her experience in delivering trauma-specific psychotherapy and aiding homeless veterans. 

As a committed official term limits pledge signer,  Shauna has vowed to introduce or support legislation aiming to impose a maximum of three terms for Representatives and two terms for Senators. Their dedication to this cause underscores a commitment to fostering a dynamic, accountable, and ever-renewing legislative body, ensuring fresh perspectives and preventing the entrenchment of power in Congress.

Shauna is dedicated to overhauling the foster care and Child Protective Services (CPS) programs in Kentucky, addressing the critical underfunding and inefficiencies that compromise the welfare of children. She advocates for increased funding, enhanced training for CPS workers, and improved support systems for foster youth, aiming to create a more holistic, responsive, and nurturing environment for children in need that focuses on prevention instead of crisis response.
